Welcome to the IOMRC General Laboratory Safety Induction!

Welcome to the Indian Ocean Marine Research Centre (IOMRC) General Lab Safety Induction module and quiz. This induction is designed to familiarise all lab users with the minimum safety requirements for working in IOMRC technical areas, based on the IOMRC General Laboratory Safety Guidelines developed collaboratively by the IOMRC partners. You are expected to be read the guidelines and be familiar with the contents. These guidelines set the baseline expectations for safe laboratory conduct. In instances where a partner organisation’s safety procedures differ from the IOMRC guidelines, always follow the procedure that offers the higher level of safety.
